Nizo 801 *Urgent Help*

#1
Does anyone have experience with the Nizo 801 or similar model, I have a question for you! In the photo, I'm pointing at the "iris" dial, and wondering which way opens and closes the aperture. The light meter in the camera is broken so i cant see use the dial in the viewfinder.
Any info is very helpful!
Thanks a million everyone!

If you can't see the indicator, what's the point of twiddling the dial? You have to know the f/stop set.

In fact, you have to know the t/stop set to set the aperture correctly. Zoom lenses of your camera's generation often t/stop considerably slower than they f/stop.

I bitterly regret not testing the Angenieux 8x8B (8-64/1.9) on my 4008ZM. When the meter crapped out in the field I was completely lost 'cos I knew that the lens lost a lot of light but didn't know how much. Its t/3.3 or so, as I found out after I tested it. I could read the aperture setting, the lens has a scale, but it was useless.

Ditto. I have Nizo 801 and Professional. As far as I know, almost all Super8 cameras need a working meter to function properly. The exception may be some Bolex 16mm cameras modified to use Super8 film.
The meter in your Nizo should be repairable. Call DuAll Camera in NYC. These are great cameras...great design...steady frames.
