Drying Super 8?

#1
Anyone got any simple, effective ideas on hanging Super 8 to dry?

Can it be dried safely in the Lomo spiral?

“A drum, my kingdom for a drum!”

Build yourself something from wood with about two feet diameter and two feet length.
Wrap some carpet slip-stop fabric around it.

After having the film’s end attached to the drum with something like a clothes-peg you go pulling it through a damp double-folded viscose sponge cloth.

Your strip will dry up without a mark.

I use a spare bathroom to process film. In the shower I have a string running from the shower head to the opposite wall, where it is taped in place using a couple strips of duct tape. I normally hang my still negatives from this string using cloths pins. For my 8 and super 8 film I use this string and some partially straightened paper clips. The film hangs from one end using a paper clip hook through a sprocket hole, and then droops and hangs on successive hooks across the shower. I can easily hang 50ft of Super 8 in this manner.
