Restore washing soda by baking?

#1
I have had my washing soda supply for a while now.

Is it a good idea to put some through the heat cycle to restore its "purity" to pure sodium carbonate (i.e. bake the water contents)?

You could put it in the fry pan and cook it on high heat. It will look/act somewhat watery (gas being driven off) when slid back and forth to a different consistency when there is no more gas being driven off. I use baking soda and turn it into washing soda by the same technique.

I dump whatever amount fits into my storage jar onto a baking sheet and weigh it. Then, I bake in the oven at about 250F until the wait doesn't change. This usually takes about one hour, but I check it a couple of times as it goes.
