How light should my rebate borders be?

#1
Trying to learn how to evaluate negatives, here.
After a few Caffenol runs, I need to think how good my process is.

Is looking at the 135 film rebate border a good indicator - very light, or a hint of gray?
I just processed an HP5+ and a Kentmere 400, fresh issue, and I see a very light gray there.

Without knowing the ingredients, the recipe, the time and the temperature it is difficult to give you an advice.
Did you use Kbr or iodized salt ?

I used iodized salt, using your latest chart as a guide..!

Note that I have since processed more films with a traditional developer (Rodinal), and my rebates that looked a bit dark to my beginner's eyes were normal-looking, after all! Good fun.
