Coffee Developers

Who invented caffenol?

#3
some people say the coffee has very little to do with it, and it is just the vit c that does the developing ...
i don't believe'em !

with coffee alone just let it stand for a few hours,
it works very well, some say better than everything else ...

stand and semi stand and caf-c yields some very good results as well ...

i have never experienced uneven development from stand development -- using caffenol, caffenol C or caffenol 130.
i use cylinders for roll film ( hand tanks ) as well as daylight tanks for sheet film ...
i hate using daylight tanks they are a pain to load, but i like the results so i shouldn't complain.

i have used coffee with agitation ( small tanks ) trays, and in a rotary processor over the years
and still do that on occasion, but just the same, i don't mind leaving the room for a half hour ...
i don't really think it is necessary to have things specially designed for stand processing ... but if it floats your boat and you have the $$$ go for it !

a thin mix?
i use more of a concentration than you think.

maybe you should spring for a subscription so you can see some of the 200+ images
i have using caffenol C and caffenol 130 that are in my gallery ...
i am sure a lot of people would love to see your results as well, since
you have been experimenting with this formula to such an extreme

i have been using it for 4-4.5 years, what about you ?

Coffee developers came to be as part of a RIT experiment
Then in 2003-2004 some brought them to PhotoNet. There Roland Simmons, Donald Qualls, Lex Jenkins, myself and a few others carried out tons of experiments
There was someone else very important, Patrick C Gainer who introduced us to adding vitamin C to Rodinal, and then we tried it back on caffenol

credit to whom credit is due....
