Dreadful results with Outdated Kodak B&W 400 Chromgenic film

#1
Every time I use cassettes of Outdated Kodak B&W 400 'Chromogenic' film I get terrible GRAIN compared with outdated ILFORD XP2 400 Super films -- not sure WHY but lately I have been trying the C41 Developer and Jessops E6 Process Bleach-Fix compared with the SEPARATE Bleach and Fix but it makes NO Difference. ! I have scanned NEGATIVES -- maybe if I do PRINTS and scan them I will get better results ? I will put samples in the 'Photos'

What're you shooting it at? I've found the stuff ages pretty well.

BW400CN through a Century Graphic. Expired 2003, 70mm stock. C-41 blix press kit. Roll 35. Capacity is supposed to be 8 rolls.

i downrated it to 125 ASA as it was outdated -- I have some more dated 12/2003 and some kodak T400 CN dated 02/2002 which I have found gives better results than the B&W 400

Pete, did you by any chance tried to develop T400CN into a slide (E6)? As it has no orange masking, it could work.
I have around 10 rolls of T400CN freezed since new, so I would be very interested if somebody developed them as reversal and could share his experience.
