Hello to all you TLR folks!
Way back when in 1963 as a junior in HS I developed an interest in photography broader than just clicking with a 127 Brownie. Happened that my English teacher was a photo type, so I naturally went to him for advice on what camera to buy. Turns out all of the SLR cameras of the day were well out of my price range, but 47th Street Photo had a nice used Minolta Autocord for $75. Off went my hard-earned grass cutting money from the summer to NYC; a week or so later back came a package with a nicely wrapped Autocord inside.
This was the camera I learned all about f stops, shutter speeds, picture composition, blah, blah blah. Used it for a couple of years until the SLR fever took over my soul and I traded it off so I could be cool like the 35mm folks.
Now I'm 69 and certainly living in the past, although I try not to. Been watching E-Bay for a nice Autocord to relive my early years in photography. Didn't want one $300-$500 worth, but a couple of weeks ago a beauty came up that sounded perfect and I was the high bidder at $150.
Haven't shot my first roll yet to test it out; that will happen this week. But, I am TLR equipped once again and I will be hanging out here on this group just to be improving my overall knowledge.
All of a sudden I'm back in 11th grade English all over again; anyone know what the homework assignment is for tonight?
Thanks for listening.
