My FTBn original bought cheaply from a 'disillusioned' Camera Club member with lots of 'Breechlock SSC 'lenses, filters etc -- then some years later was GIVEN another FTBn body from another Camera Club member -- one body still has a working illegal Mercury battery inside ! I have taken off base-plates and lubricated the cogs and things very carefully and done the seals.
