Apples and Tangerines

Well, I found one of the bad film holders.

Shot on a piece of black foam board at the minimum aperture of my 125mm lens. The lens IS sharp.

This is a negative, scanned wet because I was ticked at it. That is where all the weirdness comes from. The other exposure I took, which was the shorter of the two, was completely dark. This one is exposed pretty correctly, meaning I did end up calculating bellows factor properly.

I'm wanting to get some Foma 100 film to continue playing around with this lens. I think that outside, at closer to infinity, things could get interesting.

Hi Stephanie. I like the composition. I like the lighting. I like the softness and even the fall-off at the edges. However, I would definitely have removed the supermarket sticker from the apple before photographing it as it does detract from the effect somewhat! Otherwise, I wish I could produce a similar image (without the wet marks...) Regards, Paul.

I'll probably try it again with different apples and nectarines. The nectarines I used were very, very tasty...

It's one of the problems with photographing edibles. Eventually you eat your models.

Oh, and is it strange that this makes me want to sing "Bohemian Rhapsody"? I just remember the beginning of that video where they're standing in almost this pattern...
