Crikey! Electricity in a bathroom that close to a source of water! In the U.K. the regulations are incredibly strict. No light switches except pull cords from the ceiling or outside the bathroom. No mains sockets except a minimum of 3 metres from a shower or bath (so in practical terms since most bathrooms are small that means no mains sockets at all).
Ah yes we call those RCD’s. I use such protection for an electric heater in my greenhouse. In the U.K. at least having such Earth leakage protection or not doesn’t change the fact that electrical sockets are not allowed in bathrooms. Better than nothing I suppose and the USA voltage is lower.
