I could be wrong here but you've got Ilford XP2 listed as the film, did you hand color this or am I way off?IMO opinion, thesubject itself could use a little movement from waterflow to pick it up a little. If you did hand color this,it looks like color to me.

The tone of the print is due to the fact that I don't have a darkroom yet or the money to afford pro quality printing. So all I am left with is the local Wolf Camera for my printing and developing needs(a very sad thing to have to say). The tone is created because they process all their work on the same machines and so some of the toners and coloring from color work bleeds or is transfered onto the B&W work. Sometimes it ruins the print other times it is somewhat acceptable. It is all a big crap shoot.

Stephen, when you pay for film developing and printing you are the customer. So you need to be satisfied, period.I'm not sayig the tone isn't good in this image but if you're unhappy with their work show them the problems-to satisfy the customer they should do anything you want over at no charge. In the end it's their privelage to have you as a customer, not their right.

You are right, but it really is just a matter of getting the negatives developed and the prints are almost secondary. I figure that I will just do all the printing later anyway once my darkroom is up and running. For now the Wolf prints are just fancy proff sheets.

I hope you enjoy yourself to the fullest when it is up and running.

For me the lack of a drip or water running gives it a tension that holds my glance that split second longer.

I like it too. It has enough of an abstract look to make it interesting. Should have great fun with the tone and chrome when your d'room is up and running.

XP2 is chromogenic, but is intended to be printed on ordinary BW-paper. That why you have the tone on the print. Mine come back quite brownish, but I like that

The Kodak Portra BW is intended to be printed on colour paper and will give you a look closer to the BW paper.
