The verdunt creek fire went around the mountain. Some call it a disaster, I think it is natures way and consider it incredibly beautiful.
Location
Kootenay River in Kootenay National Park. A tourist place called animal lick.

Scanned the negative then scanned the Ink Jet print
Digital Post Processing Details
Just some exposure and contrast adjustment to get rid of a small Magenta cast in the negative

Bill, you are right. Fires are so terrible now because we have done so much to prevent them for the last 100 years. We have allowed massive amounts of fuel to build up, leading to utter destruction when a fire eventually does come along. A beautiful photograph of nature finally having her way.
