Boiler in Rowles Lagoon

This boiler was used to distill drinking water from this lake. It's the the closest thing to permanent fresh water for several hundred kilometres in any direction.

On a purely formal level, this is nicely constructed and the simple red and blue of it makes it even more elegant. But...it's also dynamic because of what it is...the irony of the very boiler that used to distill the water now polluting it with its' rust and decay.

This is really beautiful! I had the same sort of reaction as JoVo ... kind of a strange good-thing-gone-bad deal! But the pic is gorgeous!
