August Print of the Month - Big Finger & Parking Lot, 2004

Last month was my best month ever for the Print of the Month program I started earlier this year. Thanks to the many folks on Apug who have been so supportive. This month's print is something a bit different. “Big Finger & Parking Lot, 2004” was made last year during a period when I was making photographs in urban areas. This particular photograph was made in a corner parking lot where a large building had been demolished. I was drawn to the surrounding walls which included the remnants of advertising murals including a large hand. I enjoy the odd, disjointed feel to the composition and the subtle tones in the lower portion of the white walls. I'm also having a large solo show next month and would love to see some folks from APUG at the opening reception.
