I haven't put anything in the gallery for awhile. I was at an old industrial complex that is being opened to new industry and artist spaces today. Totally funky, a great place to take pictures. I shot a roll of Efke 100 (came out too contrasty) and, Thank God, a roll of Tri X that came out looking like beautiful Tri X. These are a couple of shots that I knocked out on RC this evening. Can't wait do do 'em up proper on Fiber.
I like it...would like to see a close up of that big head..lots of character. And the building looks to have tons of character. Hope you get to go back and bring many more shots back to post.
Mike,
I think that the environment is as much of the piece, maybe more, as the head. How to balance the two compositionally is the challange

Thomas,
I would love to shoot through this place with you. Especially since it seems that every time you set up a camera, an attractive lady steps into the shot and sheds her clothing . I have tried this and sat behind my camera for hours on end without anyone, male or female so much as taking off their hat. Maybe I'm using the wrong film.

Claire,
I like showing that the head is suspended on a span, I'm afraid that would be lost if cropped up into the girder. I chose to crop and compress with a short tele but you should see it in it's whole visual context. If I print a wide angle shot, I will post it and hope that you will comment further.
Well, I have to say that this is a most unusual place! Nice shot, Neal! I like the textures in everything. Is this area open to the sky on top? If so, this would be interesting to shoot after a good rain, too.
