Once more I find myself on the other side of the fence. I like the image just as it is presented. Cropping the top reduces the image in my mind to a jumble of color and line. The white sky area allows the heighth of the tower to be known, which helps in determining scale, but most important to me it gives my eye a place to escape the frame after viewing. The composition as it is allows the eye to enter, wander around visiting the line, texture and fantastic color then gently provides a white or lighter aera for the eye to travel to, then out of the frame. My vote is it is good as it is!
@Mark and Charles: The focus of this set is more on documentation than on artistic perfection. The goal was to show the enormous dimension of this plant, walking around there you feel in a titan's laboratory. Cutting the top of the construction to avoid the sky means one dimension is lost as Charles said. Thanks for looking !
