Yes, this is a very old community and old post office. The mainline RR comes through this community with many freights and ( once) with passenger trains years ago.

Funny, I don't often say this but think you did a good job shooting this in color...not sure it would work in B&W. That said, when I first saw the thumb my first thought was this would make a really cool SX70 manipulation....I do like it as it though.
 
Not a very inviting building is it!? (insert smilie here) Do you think the power lines are distracting?
