Descent into the Ladies Room

Taken on a trip to Haggard Cave, several cavers from Georgia Tech make thier way down the breakdown slope into the room I named for a white stain on a slab in the center of the room resembling a woman in a long dress with windswept hair.
This shot was used on the cover of the NSS news, a monthly magazine of the National Speleological Society, dedicated to caving and all aspects of it. http://www.caves.org/

Hi,

Was this multiple flash and tripod? You've got a lot of light into this image. Nice shot in difficult conditions.

Looks an interesitng cave. What's in the shaft above the cavers? My interest as I'm an (ageing) UK caver.

That was handheld, single flash, a Honeywell Strobonar 700. Above the cavers is a horizonal tube with the bottom open to the room, the hole just behind them is the access. I was on the breakdown across the room from them where the passage continues taking a rest break.
