Happy surprise lost in an unmarked film holder for almost a year. It is made with the front group from a 360mm Tele Arton lens used behind the aperture and 'facing' the film. Excellent soft focus from a lens no one pays any attention to. Yes, I'm still here

Nice. Was this a known trick passed down or something you came up with?

Vastly more economical (and quite nice) than a "soft portrait" lens...

Just something I know about. Most telephoto lenses have a single achromatic doublet up front that works nicely as a soft focus lens. Not widely published. Also true of old Petzval's. The front light alone is a lovely achromatic doublet.

Does this include old Speed Graphics press lenses, that you know of?

No. Although there was a guy who took his press lens rear element out of the barrel and reversed it and got something interesting. I remember the write up in B&W magazine.
