Thomas Langford was born on February 24th, 1814, and died at age 40 on March 28th, 1854. He fought in The Black Hawk War of 1832. Image taken on November 17th, 2010.
This is located on a small ridge near our local reservoir. There are four or five other markers, but they're lying flat on the ground on either side of this one. I'm not sure if they started out standing up or were intentionally laid flat to begin with. Here's a link to a picture that shows what that spot is like:

I just noticed this question. I think I must have forgot to change the scanner setting from color to black and white. It does things like this, but I don't know why.
