Granma and Twins

From the series 'Mensch', in which I put up a portrait set up in villages. I usually stayed there and developed and printed over night in my mobile darkroom. That way my sitters were the first to have their print. Only then I felt ok with showing it around.

Love the classical framing / matting on this one, really suites the unusual but nice colors of the photo.

Thanks for your comment. The framing is from the album I used, which originally was owned by King Ludwig from Bavaria. I found it appropriate to remove the royal portraits to swap them for my heroes.
I also made a printed edition, you can have a look at the pdf here: https://dezentrale.art/maehring/maehring_Mensch.pdf

That's brilliant! King Ludwig, the mad, or at least weird, king of all things... seems appropriate indeed for this series!

His castle Neuschwanstein that I visited in a distant past with my parents, was as colourful and exotic as the colouring and photography project you took on and executed.

Thanks for the information about King Ludwig, I did not know about his eccentrics! Indeed, how appropriate.
I think I have to go and see that castle.

Edited the pics to include the cover.
