This image really steps out. But I'm conflicted. The portraitest in me sais: The wide angle type distortion is not flattering. If this was a character portrait the lense choice and DOF would be perfect. Cutting edge even. This model stunning and natural, the lighting perfect and the value range rite on! contrasted by an alomost fish bowl effect.I love the shallow DOF must have been tough keeping her in focus. I would really like to love this portrait but I keep getting de-railed by the lack of compression on the face.
This is just an amazing portrait. The piercing eyes wit the contrast of the soft lips and the DOF is so well done. The lighting, tones spot on. This has a very old fashioned feel to and I like the use of a wide lens on the 8x10. Nicely done.
Jeremy! Very nice indeed. You resisted the 'too soft' look the Verito is capable of and this is perfecto. I do see where ThomasS is coming from though. Doing the math, that image that Kerik did of the girl in the garden with all the swirling edges should be repeatable with the 9" on a full plate. Something to try. Your tonality is beautiful here.
