Is the green color outside the image area true to the print? And the pink and purple tone is pretty cool. I've only gotten that color when the gold toner is staining but your highlights look clear, what is going on?

No, I didn't notice hte green colour until somebody asked me about it. I think it's an artifact of the scanner softwate trying to be over-intelligent. if I'd seen it, I would have killed it

The highlights were very grubby at first, so I bleached it in a splash of TF-4 in a trayfull of water. This cleared up the highlights and gave better separation in the midtones. It also took a bit off the shadows, so I dunked it in Tetenal gold toner after a good wash. That put the shadows back where they should be, changed the colour towards a kind of "warm-purple", and generally made it all look a lot "cleaner".

I wonder if I can ever reproduce that effect?

I've seen POP prints go this color but not VanDykes. I think is very cool for some images.
