This is a straight color scan: a trial print from a polymer plate - not what I'm really after, but I like it. I'm still trying to get a better control over the tonal range in these prints and I hope to be posting more of them soon.
Could you elaborate a bit further on this technique? "Polymer plate"??? "Etching"???, but than I see the final print is on some sort of watercolor paper... so am I right to assume this is some kind of "bromoil" transfer type process?
Thanks folks. The actual trick is to get a picture in Brugges without twenty tourists in it!

I made a transparent positive through a process not to be named, exposed a polymer plate (KM73) with an ultraviolet light source (facial tanning unit) and then washed the plate with water. The resultant image was inked and wiped, then run through an etching press onto damp paper. I'm still looking for a fully analogue way to make the photo-positive. I haven't found a reliable source for positive print continuous tone film since Ultrafine stopped carrying it.
http://intaglioeditions.com/procedures/polymer_photogravure.html is a good source of more information. There are quite a few people out there doing it far more expertly than I. Google Susan Voss for some knock-out images.
whitey... I missed this post completely... I hope you bring some of these prints you are working on to the BBQ next month... this is lovely, and I'm sure it's even better in person!
