Birthday Girl

Birthday Girl

Not sure where to go with this print. Scanned in color to give an accurate idea of tone. More contrast? Less? Tone okay? I want to burn next to the right of her face but don't know how. Only had Darkroom about 2 mo.

Very beautiful. I think the print is good as it is. If anything I would try to make the whits stand up a little more. Maybe use a diferent paper grade or, maybe bleaching would work nicely on this one.

Absolute beauty! I think it is good as it is, as well. You set up some nice lighting, and captured a really great expression. Cropping is good, though personally I like to see the hands if possible. In this shot, I think the lighter background fits well with the style of image. Really love it. regards, John.

Leave it alone...its great!

The tone is just right. Any more would have distracted from the delicate whites here. Leaving her face alone would be good as the dark spot there creates balance. People and things in pictures have some shadow. The shadow on her face is logical (you're not losing the ear completely) and artistic so I say leave it
