Very interesting and well presented color work. The treatment of the 'hills' is particularly interesting and I don't think I have seen anything quite like it - very sharply delineated with nice soft colors.

I've been to Carrizo Plain about 10 times this year so far hoping to catch it at a time that was reminiscent of John Muir's first encounters with the region. I was thinking of mentioning yesterday that this image really doesn't even begin to capture the beauty I experienced that day. My senses were simply overloaded that day as there were patches in some case of up to a mile long of solid Goldfields. There were also little tiny (as in about 5mm in diameter) purple flowers which I don't know the name of, and much larger areas of Fiddlenecks, but this year very sparsely populated with Poppies which are my primary love. If you go there now however, it is like a scene from hell. A vast, empty, baked grass land, bone dry and without a drop of water.
