One of the more interesting shots from my wildflower season in late spring this year. The Goldfields this year in the Carrizo Plain were particularly vibrant, moreso than fields of Mustard. The yellow flowers the color of chrome yellow. The hills immediately behind are the last bits of the Pacific Plate. Just beyond them is where the Pacific and North American plates rub together in the notorious San Andreas Fault. The Temblor Range is the taller hills (well hills for California, but mountains elsewhere).
