Point Walter

Point Walter

I was taking a walk along the sand bar as weather fronts were coming through. Also it was my first roll of Pan F which I've decided I quite like. Cheers.

Hi,

Superb location with masses of potential, but I think it could be printed better. It is very dark and low in contrast (Is this a reflection of the print or is this a digitisation issue ?) and I'm sure you could produce a print more faithful to potential you have identified. A lighter more contrast print would work better (and show the weather front as such), but if sun was about, an IR film would probably be the best bet IMHO. Konica 750 or Maco 820C for smooth tones. The neg you have already will almost certyainly have loads more potential and if you do reprint, please post it! The sand and the highlight clouds could do with being much brighter. A lighter print with more contrast would also sperate the values in the clouds better. Its not often that we see prints from OZ (esp with bad weather...) so keep'em coming!

Good luck,

Tom

I love the look of this photo! It looks so dark & ominous! Yeah, I'd like to see it just a wee bit lighter in some places, but all in all, it's moody & I'll bet that's how the day felt.
