Bill, good question. It was scanned from the negative (hopefully that is OK on this site). To save time if I'm not sure about a negative I'll scan the negative instead of going straight to the darkroom. For some reason occasionally with Tri-X the scans get real grainy. The final print looks much better. I did some dodging and burning and that also helps. I intended to re-scan via flatbed but that broke and hasn't been replaced.
