tree/branch stumps sticking out of the water, and its reflection on the surface...

i think the whole image is wonderful, all the parts come together to make it intriguing, as you say. the leaves on the surface, the stumps, sticking up, the reflections, the lack of a horizon line all combine to make a worthy and memorable experience. Very well seen.
