Pinhole - Bob Jones Bike Trail

the trail leads from the highway to the beach via towering heights above, intense shadow of the mature oak groves clinging tenaciously to the rocky soil and cliff droppings. bob jones bike trail is an iconic local favorite of avila beach, midway between san luis obispo and pismo beach. there are half a dozen oak park benches scattered through the thickest parts of the woods in case a soul wants to enjoy the beauty. this bench is parked under a massive oak that feels like it is hugging you from above. it is growing on a cliff facing in places, roots exposed, it is very much alive and gives off an almost night time shade.
