If it was me, I would burn all the background tree to give the central tree more impact....sort of making all dark around the one single bright tree. Also, it seems you dodged the tree and there is the trace. Once again, if it was me, I would dodge a little and then bleach the tree.....Of course I could be wrong.

As it is I think the image has possibilities, keep at it....
 
Thank you for the compliments and advice. I actually made one copy the way Jorge describes, except I didn't bleach the tree. I gave it to a co-worker as repayment for some CD's he let me burn. That copy is the finest print I have made from this negative and I just can't seem to duplicate it again. Guess that shows me for not taking notes in the darkroom.
