The Chicken Roost

This is “Chick and Ruth’s Delly” on Main Street Annapolis on a rainy night. The assignment was to obtain the best moody description possible. It is a locally well known hangout for political types yesterday and today. It is normal to find the Governor and his buddies there at lunch time. There is a local joke that once upon a time, a tourist ask directions to the “chicken roost” and it sort of stuck. Both Chick and Ruth are deceased now and the delly owned and operated by their survivors.

I have always thought shooting during and just after rain is a great idea yet have rarley done it. This image re-ignites that thought. Thanks! Great feel to the image I'm sure the image itself glows.

Dr Bob I love the tonal range and beautifully captured especially for a night scene.

Alex: this is another in the "series" where I obtained the title POD (Prince of Darkness) or "the unavailable light photographer" a while back. Another is in my gallery.

Thomas: I chose the time and weather for just this feeling. Fortunately I stood under an awning opposite. After exposing this scene I had a frame (one) remaining on the roll so I turned 180 and made the "Right Stuff" scene in my gallery. _That_ one was just very lucky.

TP: The key was the exposure and development. I can't take credit entirely as I received good advice from my mentor and instructor. I must do this again. I'm a bit shy of going alone into the city at night any more.
