Jon, the FM2N camera is a great little machine to do this kind of work with, a style I enjoy but can find a challenge. The tree trunk / bark running down the centre of the frame works here.
Thank you Tom. Down here in middle TN, the trees are much different than up along the Canadian border with paper birch and such. It was a nice contrast to what I am used to and the opportunity presented itself. I shot a similar scene over the course of a few days, the other with my Leica M5. This was right outside our cabin and was fun to shoot more intimate settings.
A nice still life - calming without being static. A full range of tones without excessive contrast. Balanced, rewards repeated viewing. Due to its subtlety I found the ‘gallery’ view with clean black surround most satisfying.
