I won a Beseler 45MXR enlarger with the Beseler DG color head for under $40.00 from a small local online auction. Nobody else wanted it I guess? It also came with four negative carriers and four lenses. I am thinking about making my own 8X10 B&W light source for it. If I do that I won't need any of the lenses or negative carriers and will likely sell those off. My question is about the lenses. They are the 161mm f4.5 Kodak Enlarging Ektanon, 75mm f4.5 Wollensak Enlarging Raptar, Schneider Componon 60mm f5.6 WA and the Beseler Beslon 100mm f4.5. I pretty much know what I need to know about all the lenses except for the Beslon 100mm f4.5. I did Google search and forum searches, but not much comes up about this lens. Since it's made in Wetzlar, Germany I was curious to know who made the lens for Beseler. If anyone here has any information on the Beseler Beslon 100mm f4.5 I'd really like to hear about it. All the lenses are in excellent shape and coated so they must be of fairly recent vintage

I had one. My lens was a 4 element Tessar formula. I never used it since I had several 6 element lenses in that fl range. It should be for 6x7/6x9 negs and should be good for up 11x14 enlargements. I tried selling mine for $20--no takers, wound up selling a group of 4 older enlarging lenses for $25. Good luck.

Yes, I figured it was a Tessar formula lens by the reflections. I didn't figure it to be worth anymore than most other lenses of similar design like maybe the Schneider Componar. It just got me curious because of the lack of information out there on this lens. Most of the time when you do a Google search you come up wit5h pages and pages of information, but not on the 100mm Beslon lens. Thanks for letting me know what you know. 👍
