When I'm working at a small desk with little space, I like to use my cordless soldering iron for simple soldering jobs like soldering and desoldering cables on flexible circuit boards or desoldering with the desoldering braid.
This device is far above the usual soldering temperature of 320 C/608 F for lead-containing solder. Therefore, it is sufficient to briefly touch the soldering point or to briefly heat the desoldering braid with the wide soldering tip. A lot of flux supports the process.
I have not seen any disadvantages so far, the soldering points look clean and the short exposure time does not damage the surrounding area.
The two soldering tips available clearly are too large for fine work or in tight spaces.
However, I do not solder electronic components with it because it simply produces too much heat and the soldering process is more complicated.
Since soldering is a highly controversial topic, I look forward to a lively discussion
