I love this question.

I don’t know anything about them, and from the website it is impossible to tell if it is current info or not. The little bit of copy I saw did not make much sense.

Related question is how they are able to fix focal plane shutters since the general consensus is that spares are no longer available. Did they stock up when they were available?

I know-I am piggy backing here-sorry!

According to my Hasselblad repairman, Hasselblad does still have the parts needed for repairs of the 200 Series and 2000 Series, but years ago decided not to make them available and keep the parts from anyone's access. A great leap backwards. Grrrr ...

Spare parts are not available from Hasselblad, just like they are not available for the 500 series. Even when they announced that spares were not available, the you could still call them up to get certain parts, they just no longer had stock of all parts.

I can still get NOS shutter curtains for the 2000, but the cost of the part, and installing it would be more than a new camera. The 1st part that Hasselblad ran out of when they stopped servicing the 2000 body was the electromagnet anvil, but you can still re-wind the coil.

Time for update:
On the end I did send my Hasselblad 2000FCW to Hassy PB MKIII service in Bangkok, Thailand for fixing.
Whole process, from Vancouver, Canada to Bangkok, fixing it and back, took no more than 2 weeks (used Canada post service and Thai Post with EMS).
Communication with John was absolutely perfect. Every day I received update with pictures of the progress and videos.
They were able to replace broken gear, put back the camera and test it. Estimate and additional charge for extra service was spot on.
I can not be happier with the whole experience.
Today, when basically nobody in the world want to service 200 and 2000 Hasselblad series cameras, this is great news! They also service other models.

Finally a documented good report! Thank you this is good to know. Hasselblad owners should bookmark this page.

Check your inbox

I have to say this is disappointing. You began a query for information and got several replies. Then you updated that you had tried the company and some details about that. Great, so far.

But when one of the people in the discussion asked how to contact the company, you PM’d it. Why begin such a discussion and then take (a very pertinent, at the core) part of it offline?

Thanks gorbas.
Yes, if you have a link to publicly available contact information, please feel free to share it publicly.
If you wish to share private contact information, please do not share it in a public post.
In this particular case, it may have avoided misunderstanding if you had highlighted the link in your post as being a website - something like "You can find their website details and contact information here: https://www.hassypb.com/fix-hasselblad/en/promotion." Otherwise it is easy to overlook.

It's very easy Eff64, I can not and don't want to post private contact information on public forum.
On very top of the thread there is website. You can go from there too.

I understand and completely agree, except in this case there is no phone or email listed on the website in your thread, and if it is a business the contact information is public by definition.

(Even if you had replied that you did x, y, and z in order to contact the company that would have helped.)

We are all here to assist, learn, further our hobby. If there is a repair resource that someone is asking about, the ability for all of us to know how to contact them is at the heart of the conversation as I see it.

Matt-Super helpful!

I have a 2000FCW which I use more than the 3 500 series bodies I own. All of my shooting is outside and having the extra two stops is really helpful, but it is really hard to find a shop to work on it if need be.

I’m not sure why, but what you sent does not come up for me, which is why I was questioning how to contact this company.

I am on iOS and this is the bottom of that page for me:

Best wishes for the holidays!

Is that an iPhone, iPad or??
To the community in general, if there is a problem dealing with a web link and what should be revealed by it, it is always better to be specific about that problem when posting about it.
Never assume that what others see is what you are seeing!

That is from an iPhone running 18.1.1. I think the person who first asked how to contact the repair place must have had the same issue I had. My point being that if he could see what you sent me he could have contacted the business easily.
I combed all over that website, and other than a couple social media links, there was no connection information on the iOS version.

Thanks again! Very helpful.

I have to second the positive report using John in Bangkok for Hassy repair. He CLA'd and replaced the skins on two film backs for me, an A12 and an A24. Communication was excellent (via WhatsApp), servicing was fast and the price was reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again if the need arises.
