Liquid developer for Kodak HIE?

What is a good liquid developer for Kodak HIE? The film I have expired in 2008. I was thinking of Kodak HC-110 or Ilford DD-X. I will be using a college darkroom, so it would be easier to use a liquid concentrate, rather than mix D-76, or X-tol, and bring it with me. The darkroom has Arista liquid developer, if anyone knows if it would work, and what the development time would be. (I looked on Freestyle's website, and Digital Truth, but there's no information.)

I've used Ilford MG developer, diluted 1+49 (HIE 4x5) about 20 years ago. Don't worry about it being 11 years past it's prime, as long as it's been stored properly. I've been working my way through a 4x5 box, expired in 1967. I shoot them at EI 12 with #25 filter. Back in the day, I shot it at EI 100 with the #25 filter. The '67 film I've been developing in Pyrocat-HD. I've posted a few in my gallery...

Thanks, nice image! When you bracketed the shots, were the ISO 100, 200, and 400 measured through through the filter you were using?

I have the same batch of film (exp. 2008); I have sold some of it on this forum from time to time.

I have last used six rolls just this past August and it came out fine (no fog); I developed it with Rodinal 1+13 (7.5 min at 20C). Two rolls were developed with D-76 stock solution (12 min at 20C)

I wish Kodak could make this film again...

I’ve used HC-110 dilution B with good results. I use 6:30 at 68F. I’m sure dilution H at anywhere from 10-13 minutes would also work well.

I prefer the look of HIE in D-76 1:1 but HC-110 isn’t bad.

I used to have great luck with Sprint at 1:9 for 11 1/2 minutes (IIRC). I know that I tried the dilution and timing on Digital Truth and it was way overdeveloped. I have some 4x5 that I haven't developed, yet and may try HC-110 this time - I don't have any fresh Sprint.

You're the one I got it from. I wish Kodak would make it (and infrared Ektachrome) again.

Based on the suggestions, I'll shoot a roll, and try HC-110. If that doesn't "work," I'll try Rodinal. Thanks, again, everyone!

Thanks, I shot it with a Minolta SLR using a red filter so it was measured through the filter.

I got my film from Renata as well.
