Sometimes you have to draw a line in the sand, put a stake in the ground. Make a stand. Print a Manifesto. Here's our stand on analog photography.

Our website is wide and deep. It's full of interesting facts, stories, and pictures. Many of these articles and knowledge bytes are not aimed at selling things - they're intended to educate, to inspire, to inform.

If you visit our website, take a minute to sign up for The Loupe, our weekly newsletter. We publish on Friday, one day only, no ifs, ands or buts. We'll tell you about our Film Friday 15% film discounts, and they'll show up in your email box in plenty of time to order.

Until then!

I fully agree with your manifesto and have signed up for the newsletter. I consider myself to just be the caretaker of the cameras I own and those that I do not use are repaired (if needed) and passed on to someone else who will use them. The slower pace of analog and the fact that it can take a lot of work to create a good final print is the main source of satisfaction for me. A lot of folks my age have gone to digital for the convenience, but it's the actual process of analog photography that I love.

Call it whatever you'd like. To me that's a repairman's version of an artist statement. 🤣

And as a marketing tool, it's a good one... got me to open the links and seriously consider what I was looking at.

Okay - and I know that Andrew started this, but all this tariff discussion does not belong here, so I am deleting it.

I will take a look! Love the Dadaists. I was just reading about Max Ernst the other day. While not a photographer, still very interesting and culturally relevant. There is a nice you tube film on him and his work by Peter Schamoni.

They were deleted because they were off topic.

I hope they know I'd be deleted too if I started talking about the GREAT job I just finished rebuilding a Revox A77 tape recorder a fellow gave me. It was nothing more than 2 total junk parts chassis, and I made a fully restored and complete machine with all new capacitors, rubber, and aligned it to factory specs. Plays flat from 30 to 15kc like charm. Not bad for a fellow who never saw one in his life. I THOUGHT about politics while doing it sometimes, because my mind wanders when I do tedious things.
