I am a new member, attracted to the site as I saw a reference to the above photographer. I used to work for him in his London studio many years ago. Does anyone else remember him? He was a real character and a wonderful person to work for and with.
I saw many of his photos on various books and on magazine covers, many of which were taken with an 8x10 Camera. Can you give some information about him, and what he liked to use in terms of photographic equipment, films and lighting etc?

Yes I to got to know Michael over a decade during which he moved his studio from Warren Street to Doughty Street and later to work from home in Finsbury.
The Camera he used I am pretty sure is the old 10x8 DeVere I inherited and used as a 5x4 with bag bellows! until I could afford the real thing. Such improvisations were what MBM thrived on and he even used converted items borrowed from University Hospital. He was a real professor of front projection for many years but serviced J&J and catalogue accounts later. I believe he and Cherry moved to Ireland. I recall him with great affection.
I am looking to make contact with Michael Barrington-Martin in relation to pictures taken of my late mother Bridget Cornish in the early 70's. I have been looking through her portfolio and see that Mr Martin of 42 Glasshouse St photographed her on more than one occasion. Any leads as to his whereabouts would be greatly appreciated

Delighted to see all the positive messages for Michael. I am receiving messages while Michael and Cherry are travelling. He would be pleased to hear from any agents interested in his diverse library of works. Feel free to contact me Sara Devoy at my email address jsdevoy@eircom.net.

I'm not sure that 'Cherry Barrington' has logged in since 2013. You might want to try the e-mail address given. I just looked up the front cover of 'Picturegoer' - great work.
