But the artist - whether painter, sculptor, carver, or photographer makes a conscious decision about what the view can or will see. I guess I don't understand why you think photography is different. Perhaps you could clarify?

I think you are talking about form.

For me, the camera to subject distance with a 50mm lens is most important decision I make for any photograph.

These denotations probably cover the space below eye-level and above eye-level. So worm`s eye view is below eye-level, but not only on the ground. On bird`s eye view you also could ask how high the bird is flying, so this term should cover everything above eye-level.
