Hi all, wondering if anyone has experienced this issue with one of their batch scanners before. I noticed after plugging into my computer yesterday to scan a roll of film that my 7250 pro seemingly can no longer advance frames. The scanner has a built in motor to move from one frame to the next, and when taking up the film or ejecting film it works no problem. Momentarily pressing the forward/reverse buttons on the physical scanner also works to make small adjustments to frame align the negatives, however the issue is that I can't seem to make it go from one entire frame to the next one without spamming the adjustment buttons. Holding it down, which used to work no longer seems to work on the physical scanner, and I noticed the "move to next frame" activity on vuescan appearing but nothing happens. I tried with Cyberview, but I notice the same issues there. It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue, since the motor system works fine from what I've seen, and the fine adjustment also works just as well. Its only just moving the whole frame from one negative to the other that the scanner just does nothing.

Any advice? Thanks.

Presumably, there is a sensor involved in determining the correct advancement. It's possible that this sensor is inoperative due to e.g. fouling. Maybe root around the device a bit and perhaps do some cleaning.

Just a wild guess; I'm not familiar with this scanner.

Thanks for the response. I think I'm going to try to open it up this weekend to poke around and see what might be under there. I know that theres a film detection system in there, as it can detect when i first insert film to begin pulling it into the scanning area but there might be something else inside I didnt know about.
