Whittling down my redundant gear..

Next up, the lens the $3000 Leica Summaron 28mm f5.6 wishes it was! The mighty Orion 15 f6! Fantastic shape physically and optically. Incredibly smooth focus action (seriously - no idea how this happened!). Fiddly aperture selection cuz it's in the front face but still easy to use. Leica also made some lenses like this... Takes great pics.
LTM mount, comes with caps and the hard plastic case. Bring your own LTM adapter if you need one (Fotodiox recommended).
This really is the nicest shape Orion 15 I've ever seen. You will not be disappointed!
Takes great pics - samples attached.
$300 shipped/pp

Ignore the pic of the Summicron. For some reason I cannot delete it - it does not show when I go in to edit...

Hap - it sure is! But since I've re-discovered my CV 28 3.5 I realized I'm not using this, so it should go to someone who will.

Kobalux/Avenon are the same thing. May also be branded as something else. They were bargain basement lenses when they came out and are a step below CV etc. When I bought the CV about 5 years ago it was maybe $200. Now $700+!
The CV 28 3.5 is fantastic - they should bring it back, instead of the trend of building much bigger fast lenses. RF photography is about compact/high quality IMO.

some people will prefer "period" lenses for vintage looks or collectability. When I bought a 35 summaron ltm I considered it to be close enough to "modern" and so well built, that I did not need to buy something like the 35 M mount from China that everybody (at one time) was raving about.

The 35 Summaron is superb. So well built too. I sold mine just because I had too many 35s and I needed to get a grip and unload gear!
The 35LLL 8 element replica really is spectacular - crazy deal at the intro price. I love mine.

I was pleased with the price I paid for the summaron and love the build. I ended up buying the LLL lens shade in silver for a freakish low price and especially good that it also fits my 50mm DR Summicron. I'm set for a while.

Can't buy an Fuji C200 these days. nice picture. I just bought a 4x4 TLR (127) so that's my current project. I like TLR's. However, hard on my old eyes.

That Voigtlander Color Skopar 28/3.5 is outstanding. That's all I'm using now, made out of brass and very compact.

Did it happen? They showed film in stock.

Also someone buy this lens! Perhaps the greatest 28mm lens ever created!

Yes, I bought the film......super thanks. Waiting for delivery.

I guess some (even me) who like ltm lenses seem to want something a bit faster?

Fer sure this is not a speed lens, but appeals to those who like stuff like the Leica Summaron 28 f5.6, but want a better performing lens for 1/10th the price!

For daylight photography f6 is not an issue. Using Sunny F16 and ISO 400 film, heavy overcast will be f6 @ 1/250 or 1/125.

I must be lucky as I just found a pack of five, 36 exp. of C200 in my small stash of expired films.

Since I do no usually shoot colour, I was thinking of shooting several expired colour films in various AF point and shoots that I accumulated over the years as loaners to some fellow artists for working with kids and adults with developmental disables, or summer time art classes, after watching several YouTube photographers (all young of course) using old stock or Retropan, etc, for road trips and exploring sites.

Between wide to telephoto lenses, they run the spectrum an it should be fun.

I had the all metal 28mm LTM Color Skopar, it came with my old Leica IIIc, together with the silver metal viewfinder and it took top quality photographs.

I had to sell it when I sold the Leica but I'd buy another in a heart beat, if I had the cash.

It's a stellar piece of kit, but I feel the same about this Orion in this sells thread and have heard good things about them for years.

Some one should snach it up or I'll go buy a scratch-off later today!

It's why whenever it comes in stock I buy a whole bunch of it.

When people see images taken with this lens it goes like this:

"Wow those look like they were taken with a $3000 Leica 28mm Summaron, but better"

"I know."

Now on hold. Just watched that MrLeica review and it reminded me of how awesome this lens is.

Gonna shoot another roll through my MP and see how I feel after that...
