Anon ymousHi, I am new to the world of reversal process and I would like to ask for your advise please.
I have used the foma kit with some Agfa Scala films and the results were very good for my taste.
Now I decided to buy my own chemicals to develop a 8mm foma film.
I have read that foma uses LQR developer on their kit but.. The kit's dilution is 1+5 and the suggested dilution for LQR on another brochure is 1+10. A bit confused on what to do here...
I own the following chemicals and any suggestion is much appreciated.
LQR, sodium thiosulphate anhydrous, potassium permanganate, sulphuric acid 95-97%, sodium metabisulfate anhydrous.
Thank you!
Thanks for your reply.Anon ymous
Are you greek?
Here there is a colleague from Greece who is a great expert, I am sure he will help you in this matter seriously.
Regarding the availability of metol in Greece, I really don't know? But it is available in Egypt, if you have any friend traveling from Cairo to Greece, I can send you a quarter of a kilo with him, or you can use this application.I have to try some expired isopan f double 8 films. This is Asa 25.
Does anyone knows if this emulsion is completely different from the negative isopan f film?
I also have Fomadon LQR and almost every chemical to mix my own developer but as an activator I only have hydroquinone. No metol, no phenidone. Is there any formula for reversal process that I can mix?
And if anonymous is reading this post, do you know where I can find metol here in Greece please?
Thanks
Don't worry about time. Whenever you have free time.Well brother, give me a few hours to come to you with the answer.

I sent you a private message, open the mailbox,Don't worry about time. Whenever you have free time.
I have found only one place to buy 1kg of metol for 130EUR. I don't know if it is expensive but for sure I don't want 1kg.
Also I would like to tell me a starting point for developing time.
Thanks
Update. It works... my film I'm experimenting with is slightly OOD (2012) so I need to expose for about 64 / 80 EI. However the developer works fine and the bleach seems to be completely functional. The "dark" part of the process I ran in my Jobo processor before unloading the film for re-exposure and then loading the film onto a stainless steel reel for the second development and fixing. I used a fresh solution of the '1st developer' for my 2nd developer.
Bleach solution A:
- 750ml distilled water
- 20g Sodium Hexametaphosphate
- 4g Potassium Permanganate
- distilled water to 1000ml
Bleach solution B:
Bleach use is A+B to make working solution, then used one-shot (250ml per film in the Jobo) I used 7 minutes @ 24C
- 750ml distilled water
- 50g Sodium Bisulphate
- distilled water to 1000ml
Clearing bath:
- 750ml distilled water
- 30g Sodium Metabisulphite
- distilled water to 1000ml
Hello! Would this bleach work with FOMADON LQR?
Fomapan 100r is a reliable source for ds8 but I have never tried it because bw revarsal is a bit complicated ore expensive to develop.
100r kit looks to give max 2750ml working solution and cost more then 50 euros.
I like the orwo un54 better but is is hard to find in ds8.
As you can source the chemicals for this bleach, why don't you make your own developer too?
Athiril's suggestion, which is a modified D-19 at 27°C for fomapan r100 is a very good choice.
Why don't you do them both at 27?
Developer is critical and when I bleach for 3-4 minutes, no matter the temperature, I see no difference. At least when projecting the 8mm on the wall.
The only difference is that I use dichromate as bleach, so somebody else could help you in this matter.
Yes, this bleach is actually the benchmark.Hello! Would this bleach work with FOMADON LQR?
