Looking for some suggestions for developing times for a roll of 26 year old Tri-X.
I am assuming it was exposed 26 years ago as well.
Unsure of how it was stored but most likely not well.
I have Ilford DDX for a developer.
Thanks
Todd

I don't have any recommendation for your question, but by doing so it will bump to the top in case someone else has a suggestion.

I would thin that what you are going to get are best guesstimates unless someone had used this combo. It might make sense to contact Ilford to see what it says

Alternatively unless you know that each frame is precious, I'd cut it into two if it's 120 and three if it's 35mm and develop one at a time, deciding on strip 2 from 1 and strip 3 from 2

I can't think of the name, but I believe there was a group (a group of one guy?) who specialized in processing decades old film. Anyone know this? It might be a good lead. I'm sure there was an internet presence.

I've heard of a 120 film canister being used for a half inch strip test of 120. Maybe the same could be done with 35mm and the relevant canister?

I’d use a fog reducing developer.i’d go with hc110/Ilfotec hc (dilution 1:31) for 5 minutes at 20c. Or even 1:15 for 3 minutes.

Fog reducing developer and the least possible time spent developing is what you want, in order to avoid ugly a fogged and heavily veiled negative.
