So, I'm curious as to which gives a denser negative, of the two instants, named above.
Someone gave me a 210 cup jar of Taster's Choice but I drink Nescafe Dark Roast or Robusta and I've never tested which will give me, if any, the densest printable negitives.
I do no want to waste either coffee, so those of you that have tried both, I'd like to hear about your pick for "Caffinol+C" developer, including your process.
I just use whatever is cheapest at the local 99cent store; the only caveat (which you probably already know) is that it should be 100% coffee-- no flavorings. Been doing it this way for years, no problems. I use gram/liter measurements, which I think helps iron out some of the variability in the instant coffee choice.
I've always used the store-brand knock-off of Folgers Coffee Crystals (it's under a different name, now, I think). Nothing gained by buying better coffee, in fact, the more robusta the better, seemingly. But I agree, must be 100% coffee, no chicory, no flavors, etc.
I've tried several brands and brews of instant coffee and have ground whole beans, sold by jantz, but so far the best results I've had is from Nescafe Clasico Dark Roast instant coffee.
