Standard 8 test from three years ago... I finally had it developed.

#1
in 2018, I decided I wanted to test out my standard 8mm camera, and ran a roll of r100 through it, before letting it sit around for almost three years. Well here it is uncropped and uncorrected. it's not anything special, and I know I definitely blew out the image a few times, as I was using the guide on the side of the camera instead of a light meter.
honestly, after I finish some 16mm camera tests later this summer, I'm thinking about a redo. any feedback will help, but I'm wondering, I had this transferred at 18 frames per second but it runs kind of fast. think I should have the next one done at 24?

If playback is too fast, you need to transfer at a slower rate; try 16 fps.

Load your camera in subdued light; some of that blow out was stray light getting into the spools.

A few thoughts. You know your camera is working, which is a good start. You could load your spools in lower light as Kino suggests. Try adjusting the playback speed of the scan in whatever video editing software you can get your hands on....unless you specifically want to shoot at 24fps. And have fun!
