I shot a 1980 expired Kodachrome 40 type B and had it processed. I tried shooting at iso 3-1, and while it does look a little underexposed, I think it's safe to say this turned out decent.

I did the thing you're not supposed to do.
#1 #2 That does look fairly decent! It's too bad that found film like this is impractical for anything beyond random scenes, since it's so unpredictable. I suppose if you had a quantity of comparable age and type film to work with, then you could figure out the exposure and processing with the first few rolls and then shoot something more intentional with the rest.#3 I'd say very decent, considering the material you used. Some shots are nice, much a-la Dziga Vertov.
How did you manage to develop the film? Is it really inverted and projectable? I have since daceades an undeveloped Kodachrome filmed in the '80s, which was returned undeveloped by Kodak as the process was "no longer supported". I believe that there's nothing left in it to be seen, but still I would like to give it a try "just in case": it would be the last chance to see some grandparents and other friends and relatives that died long ago.#4
sorry about getting back to you so late, but I had this developed by Film Rescue International, probably the last lab in the world that will accept Kodachrome. The film can only be processed as a BW negative, so no projection but they will digitally transfer the results.
and some old "found" 8mm rolls I had processed by them
