Darkroom

sdotkling-Darkroom
After many years in boxes, my darkroom equipment is now installed in a new 8x10 basement darkroom. I took another 8 feet to build a walk-in maze-like light trap, so I never have to worry about someone opening the door at an inopportune moment, since there is no door. Another advantage of that arrangement is a constant flow of air; that's a slowly turning fan in back of the enlarger.
Since the basement of my house is susceptible to water puddles when it rains hard, I raised the floor of the darkroom an inch above the concrete to let water drain under it. And the walls are made of cement-board instead of drywall in case all hell breaks loose and the basement really floods. Everything else is plywood and 2x4's.
Just out of sight is a film-drying cabinet that is simply a small closet with a vent hole in the door with a bit of air-conditioner filter taped to it, and a stereo-cabinet fan for exhaust.
