A Friend's Father

A Friend's Father

For years a good friend and I have had an annual fishing trip with his father. It started with his father showing us and debating the finer points of technique and the best position to be in, and sharing tales of days gone by ...

John, the others have already said it, all I can add is it is a magnificent image! I saw that same look in my Mothers eyes...............................

Thank you for sharing!

I was intrigued by this photo even before reading your words. I can only imagine how wonderful this image is for the people who know him. I would cherish one this lovely of my own father.

John, I'm sorry to hear about your friend's father, but hopefully soon we can do something about this horrible condition. I have an elderly friend who passed away not too recently that suffered from the same affliction and now I spend part of my time at work researching new compounds to test with an eye towards treating Alzheimer's.

I can't imagine lighting any better than this..but, the eyes are what stop me dead in my tracks. They are filled with personality, emotion and give us a glimpse at this person's soul. Really, very well done.

Beauty and sadness can be so very close together. Very moving picture.

John,

Your image shown here has compelled me to post for the first time, and more importantly has inspired me to take greater care in my next portrait session. Thank you for that!

Too rarely it seems, a portrait is made that causes one to stop......escape their own ego for just a brief moment and care about the subject in front of them. To somehow feel an unexplainable connection, and want to know more of their story. I think this is one of those rare portraits.

Beautiful light and attention to detail, and so very much being expressed in this man's eyes. Your friend is fortunate to have found someone with your sensitivity as a fishing partner.

John, I don't come to the gallery near enough these days. For some reason I did this AM and this photograph has made the day. It is an exquisite moment captured. A page turned.
