When Adox CHS 100 II came out in 120 format last year, it was available only through Fotoimpex, so I bought it through them. Later, Freestyle added it to their inventory and I bought it from them. In the end, it was about the same price from both suppliers - it's just that film price + shipping was balanced differently from each.

Rats. Well, just when you begin to rely on a given film it goes out of fashion. Just the way my luck pans out sometimes. I fell in love with Efke KB25 film and that company went completely out of business. Now CMS 20 II film is gone. I guess I will be working more with TMX100 in the future. Expensive but at least it is still available. Fortunately I have plenty of TMAX in the freezer for a couple of more years and I will just keep replenishing my stock for as long as I can.

Too bad. CMS 20 was a good film but probably too specialized to last. It seems that today everyone wants their film to be ISO 400.

It has happened three times for me. HIE, Efke 25, and now CMS 20.

A formal warning was issued for this and another post in this thread; being critical is fine, but being rude and disrespectful is not tolerated.
Radost, the price of everything has gone up drastically in recent times. Still 10 rolls of CMS ii shipped to N America is 137.4 € so just under $15 usd /roll..... vs TMax 400 at $11/roll. We know it's a specialty film from a small producer in Europe....& times have changed, who thought we'd be paying $350 USD for a box of 16x20 paper? What we should have done doesn't count. Be thankful you're not a large format aficionado....

FOTOIMPEX wants 36 EURO to ship me the film. Hell No!
It’s not the money. Its the principal.
As I said. Limiting the film to the European market only is very unfair to people in other countries.
If they have the stock why prioritizing EU customer over the rest of us.
Are EU customers more important to ADOX than the rest of us????
Whoever made that decision was wrong to do it!

I am considering boycotting all ADOX films from now on.

I have a bigger problem with the total disrespect for world customers by limiting the sale to Europeans only.
I am not paying $38 shipping. Out of principle.
No other company will ever do anything like this.

What's the big deal about buying something from a vendor outside the USA? I see this all the time, Americans seem petrified about buying anything outside their country and I don't understand why. Just order from Fotoimpex and DHL delivers it to your door 2 days later. Fotoimpex even has an English version of their website. What's the difficulty?

$38 Shipping!!!!! Outrages.

Well, we buy from a foreign country all the time. Shipping to Canada from Freestyle for 10 rolls of TMax 100 would cost me $41 USD....more than Fotoimpex would charge to send me Adox film from Germany.
B&H builds it into their cost/profit/volume.....but they're the only one.
Outrageous?...... high shipping costs are pretty common.

CMS20 is still available but only for in Germany for Germans.

Über alles!

I know that it is only available at Fotoimpex, but it's not just for Germans LOL. I've got a small stash. I'm also going to play around with HR-50, which might be to my liking as it as extended red sensitivity.... IR!

Adox still sales films in the USA.
They choose not to sale this one.
If you don’t want Kodak get ilford.
I don’t have a replacement for cms20

I have bought products from Fotoimpex before and from Canada as well. Shipping is higher than I normally pay in the US but neither Freestyle nor Blue Moon Camera are that far away from me so I never gave it much thought.

Besides there are products that I will pay a little extra in order to get them. If Fotoimpex has CMS 20 in stock I'll pick up some more. It is not a film I use up really fast but when I need a very high resolution film I have yet to find anything better so I will pay a bit more to get it.

The events of the last couple of years have been tough on film production and sales so I am just happy to still have it. I am actually more worried about the Adotech IV developer as I have not found another developer that works anywhere near as well for this film.

Now that CMS 20 has been discontinued, would it be a problem to specify which Kodak Imagelink is close or identical?

The reality is International shipping is now extortionate, so it's not a company's fault, they have no control of the postage costs. I was sent a shutter for repair and postage from the Netherlands to the UK was 31 euros, and it was only a small box.

I have 3.5 bottles. I'm planning to use it for the remainder of CMS 20 that I have on hand, as well as with HR50.

It's definitely got IR sensitivity , as much as Rollei IR and Superpan 200. It's also very fine grain ( less than Pan F and Delta 100 ) , however it comes out very contrasty at their recommended time in HR-DEV . So if you can help us out here .... !

It is Adox fault. They choose to ship their other films to the USA but not that one.

"Fault" ? I'd say decision is a better word. Perhaps their supply of CMS20 is small enough that it makes little financial/business sense for them to sell it at wholesale.
